ARCOSOMA WORKSHOPS
Arcosoma© is a method that we have created that deals directly with a visceral/body oriented comprehension of the archetypes. Arcosoma literally means 'body form or container.' The human organism can be said to be the ultimate ground of the archetypes as they move through the collective and become personified as personal unconscious patterns in our lives. Although much has been written (including this web site) about the archetypes, practical application is lacking. The purpose of each workshop is to create an immediate somatic/emotional awareness through individual, dyadic, and group exercises of personal archetypal patterns. These patterns are the essence of psychological complexes and attitudes that keep us revolving instead of evolving. Our model for exploration is the cosmic tree. We require that all participants do the basic Arcosoma 1 before moving to the more advanced workshops.
ARCOSOMA 1: THE WORKSHOP
A one day non-verbal, somatic workshop using the cosmic tree as our model. We will work through eight different branches and begin in the morning by exploring the vitality branch with warm up movements. We will break for lunch from 1:00-2:00 pm. You will need comfortable, loose fitting clothing for this workshop and a pillow. Bring pad and pen for taking notes if you desire.
An advanced workshop specifically designed around the Jungian concept of the Shadow. Our one day experiential workshop deals with our hidden, secret side. Workshop begins at 9:00 am with a presentation & orientation into the nature of the unconscious. Will begin a series of personal explorations whose aim is to clarify and begin to recognize our own shadow. We will branch off and work in individually, in pairs, small groups, and as one large group. Using our unique Arcosoma© method we will explore a variety of emotional themes: love, hate, judgment, prejudice, family and cultural inheritance. We will break for lunch from 1:00-2:00 pm. You will need comfortable, loose fitting clothing for this workshop and a pillow. Bring pad and pen for taking notes if you desire.
ARCOSOMA 3: RELATIONSHIPS FROM THE INSIDE OUT
A one day non-verbal experiential workshop exploring the dynamics of the inner feminine and inner masculine within us. Jung's concepts of the anima and animus will come alive for you as never before. Using our unique Arcosoma© method we will explore many aspects of relating including: sexuality, intimacy, jealousy, communication and trust. We will also explore the psychological world of projection--the he said, she said trap. We will break for lunch from 1:00-2:00 pm. You will need comfortable, loose fitting clothing for this workshop and a pillow.
