| What is astrology? |
|
Astrology is a very ancient intuitive science dating back at
least 5000 years. Practically every early civilization from the Aztecs
to the Anasazi erected astronomical observatories to study the motions of
the planets. Observatories were often constructed as solar markers so that
the exact timing of solstices and equinoxes could be recorded in real time.
Astrology is the study of planetary cycles and patterns and how these sychronistically relate to the personal and collective events in our lives. During the middle ages and renaissance the study of astrology was included in the curricula of many European universities. It was considered an integral part of the schools of medicine, mathematics, philosophy and theology. With the Industrial and intellectual revolutions of the 17th century astrology was labeled "unscientific" and was henceforth split off from mainstream education. The 21st century has seen a revival in this ancient science. Astrologers in Great Britain can now receive a degree in this subject. |

In the birth or natal chart the planets and points symbolize our inner
psychological drives, needs, challenges and complexes.
The natal chart for example describes our unique hero and or heroine's journey. It provides many clues that can help us on our passage toward individuation. Planets, signs and houses speak the symbolic language of the unconscious and communicate through the archetypes. They are the symbols and metaphors that can help link us to a greater understanding of our psyche. Like the nightly dream realm the natal chart shows how universal archetypal themes have become localized as the forces and drives within us. Understanding these patterns is to work toward liberating our consciousness from fear, repetitive unconscious behaviors, projection and a general psychological ignorance. In Jungian parlance, psychological ignorance is spiritual ignorance. |

I begin with a solar return discussion of the principle themes of the upcoming year in all areas of your life. I then examine the progressed chart which shows the long term planetary patterns and cycles as they are playing out during the year. I finish the presentation with the transits. These are real time planetary aspects that interact with your natal chart. Transits are done as a weekly/monthly examination of the next 12 months usually starting on your birthday month. Discussion areas include career, travel, relationships, education, health, and finances. Also included are a discussion of your current Chinese Year symbol, Sabien progressed sun symbol and Numerological year symbol. |

If you do not know
how to obtain your birth records, please let me know. All US states have
birth certificates on record at the state capital, usually located in the
Vital Statistics Offices. Also all states now have web sites where you can
order a copy of your birth certificate.
There are two different types of birth forms: The Short Form or Uncertified birth certificate which gives the person's name, sex, date and place of birth. It omits the actual birth time since there is no line for it in the form. The Long Form or Certified birth certificate has additional information which includes parents names, grandparents, delivery or birth time. REQUEST the long form if you want your time of birth! They usually include it. But if not it just request your time of birth directly. Arizona has had a space on it's long form to enter the birth time since 1909, although there's never been legislation to enforce it. |
